A Research Study On Mini Lecturing - 1351 Words
I witnessed several of these skills during all the student led counseling groups. The primary skill used depended on the group. Overall, I think encouraging and supporting were the primary skills used to alleviate anxiety and generate group discussion. This was evident during the all the group sessions where the group leaderââ¬â¢s success relied heavily on group participation and interaction with the memberââ¬â¢s and the leaderââ¬â¢s. The first group relied more on mini lecturing and information giving which was appropriate for psychoeducational group. Mini-lecturing is necessary to build the foundation of knowledge to begin providing clients opportunities to expound and information about the feelings clients were experiencing. The purposeful engagement of the group in establishing the therapeutic alliance in a ma nner that promotes respect. This sectionââ¬â¢s focus is on how to maintain the groupââ¬â¢s interest in a manner that encourages self-actualization that initiates behavioral change. As counselors, we need to be knowledgeable of our clientââ¬â¢s abilities and adapt the material to meet our group memberââ¬â¢s needs as they arise. Furthermore, Section B is about creating meaning through collaboration and interactions with group members exchanging concepts as subject matter experts. Yalom Leszcz (2005) explains that the counselorââ¬â¢s task in creating meaningful dialogue between group members is to focus the group process on about the here and now to help them conceptualize their behavior through the lens of their peers. Another guideline counselors should use is to maintain diversity awareness and how members receive and respond to their peers and educational resources, i.e. videos or visual aids. Answer: Introduction Organizations go through smooth and rough patch. It is important for the organization to strengthen the internal environment and recruit employees that will help them in regaining in position in the market. The case study of yahoo will give an insight to the problems in organization and the ways of overcoming them. After reading the case study of yahoo, it can be said that the demand of labor at yahoo is quite high but the supply could not match the demand of the labors in the company (Dessler, 2013). Yahoo is ready to pay above average payment to employees for the research park and it association Champaign County Economic Development Corporation. However, the employees at yahoo had thought of leaving the organization by considering it as one of the most viable options available to them (Werner, Schuler, Jackson, 2012). Many employees have left the organization to be part of the rival search engine Google. The sudden fall of yahoo from being one of the most sought after search engine to an advertising site has resulted in then huge downfall in the supply of labor in the organizations.To strengthen the internal recruitment system, yahoo should carry out a reevaluation of the present operation of the organization and listen to the employees made by the employees regarding further recruitment (Mo ndy Mondy, 2012). The employees who are in the organization for a longer period currently have an idea about issues and problems in the organization. Hence, the employees will be the best people to suggest the company about internal recruitment. Consulting the employees will help in building the corporate strategy of the organizations (Truss, Mankin, Kelliher, 2012). Once the organization will ask the employees for ideas of betterment, they will start having a feeling of belonging in the organization and there will be lesser chance of the employees leaving the organization (Werner, Schuler, Jackson, 2012).If yahoo had to recruit from the college then it should be done in the college campus rather than internal recruitment or through the job website (Werner, Schuler, Jackson, 2012). Once they will go for recruitment, the main thing that should be highlighted to the students is that the change in yahoo. The college student will be going out to the professional work and they will b e enthusiastic to try something new (Truss, Mankin, Kelliher, 2012). Yahoo has already hit the rough patch and hence it is high time that they bring the change in the organization. The enthusiastic students will be looking forward to the change and will be interested in extending their services in yahoo (Truss, Mankin, Kelliher, 2012). Conclusion It can be concluded that it is high time for yahoo to strengthen the internal recruitment to bring the change in the organization. However, for the college recruitment, they should carry out campus recruitment and highlight the changes in the organization.
